I have a 5 year old desktop G5 (tower). It has trouble going to sleep or switching back on when it’s been off for a while. I tend to leave the computer on all the time (otherwise I open it and press the reset button etc). This morning it went dead and caused a minor electricity power cut. I’m interested in either getting this repaired but if it’s too expensive and not worth it I’d like to recycle it. I also have some data on the computer that I’d like to retrieve if possible. I have a fault on mi ibook g4. The display is not coming on the monitor. The ibook boots up ok. Are you open tomorrow for me to drop it off and do you charge to diagnose the problem?

Can you quote me for repair and upgrade on this machine for the following:
1 x Lower SODIMM slot failure – needs repairing
1 x 1gig RAM installed in the repaired sodimm slot to thus bring machine up to 2gig ram (1 gig already onboard on the remaining working slot)
1 x hinge sloppy & needs tightening (note: this is NOT tightening of the screen to the hinge, more so the hinge clutch has lost its dampening)
1 x HDD upgrade from 80gig to 300gig 5400rpm with backup of old system software and reinstalled onto new HDD with disc partition of 50gig named ‘SOFTWARE’ and and 250g named ‘FILES” all OS and software to be decanted onto the 50g partition and the 250g partition left blank.
1 x lid clasp fix. The metal hook presents when the lid closes but does not latch
1 x body straighten and power socket inspection / fix – the aluminium body around the power socket female jack slightly misshapen when once caught – also I have noted through inspection the jack housing broken away on the internal fixing by 1 x lug. This means the male jack never really gets a firm grip when plugged up to charge and needs twiddling to find the optimum position to make power contact
If the work is possible to do can you quote me costs for each job separate then 1) I have a clear breakdown of anticipated parts and labour costings and 2) should the total price be too expensive, I can prioritise some of the jobs and not the others.
